At the multi-author Q&A/book signing on Saturday, someone asked if any of the six authors had considered using a professional editing service before sending their work out to agents and/or publishers.  While it's not something I'd ever do, I was interested to hear the mixed response from the panel.

By happy coincidence, this afternoon I came across an excellent post on the subject atdpeterfreund's blog: http://dpeterfreund.livejournal.com/31551.html?thread=53055.  If you've ever thought about paying for editorial input, but weren't sure if it was worthwhile, I think you'll find the answer here.

Of course, as always, the choice is ours.
