[The good folks over at The Blood-Red Pencil have been posting about poetry all this week. Starting with this one:] What is Poetry?

If you have a particular favorite among these, please let the author know (and me too, if you have time).  Also, if you've a link to a great post that isn't here, feel free to share.

Is "the hidden nerve" friends-locked? Because I can't access it.

I'm with Terri; I can't access it either.

I think it is friends-locked, or even deleted, as I get the same "forbidden" message from LiveJournal in either scenario.

Sorry about the friends' locked thing. I reset it to "everyone." Thanks for the interest!

Thank you! I'll take a look later (I'm kind of just taking a moment to check my email right now).

Sorry, been a hectic day.

Thanks, Pat. I didn't realize it was a locked post - hope that was okay to link to it.

LinksAPlenty. Added a link to your profile, rather than to a single page. Not that I have that much traffic there, apparently, from all the moderation I do, I get waves of Spam comments that never appear on it. That's my open bookmarks site. One of the reasons it's online is that I've had too many shabby systems that have up and died on me, bookmarks and all.

I love this quote from Jim Hines: "the more the stupidity grows, the harder it is to walk away." So true, and he gives good tips on when you should walk away.

Also, good points in "Writers on Writing--Emotion." I like the example of watching fiction TV with the sound off and what we can learn about how people display emotion by watching real life.

I'm still working my way through the others! Your links will be my tea breaks today :)

Thanks, Jon! Pleasure to see I made The List. If I haven't said so before, thanks for doing this. I rarely comment, but I often find interesting posts on these from people I don't regularly read.

Actually, I have 3 favorites.

Defense Mechanisms in Writing
When to walk away
The hidden nerve in writing

I'm planning to try Tracy's suggests in Defense Mechanisms.
I'm trying to learn how to do what Jim was talking about in When to walk away.
The hidden nerve in writing describes me almost perfectly.

Glad you enjoyed them :)

PS: Sorry for the late response. For some reason, I don't get notified of some comments (I think it's an optonline.net problem, rather than an LJ one).
