Gosh darn it!

I apologize for the strong language in the header there.  I assure you it was provoked.

Last night my laptop crashed.

I haven't been around much today because I've been trying to get the blinking thing to reboot.  There doesn't appear to be a physical problem with the hard drive, yet I can't even get it to restore to factory settings.

I have back-ups of all my files on my office PC (as well as on numerous cds and flashdrives), so I haven't lost any work, but I hate to lose to an inanimate object, don't you?

Honestly, if there was a mood indicator for 'Mildly annoyed', I'd bloomin' well select it, I can tell you.

Anyhoo, I've given up on the laptop (for now), as I have a long list of non-internetty things that need doing, but tomorrow is another day.

I look forward to catching up with everyone then.

LOL. Yes, I was very shocked by the strong language of your subject line...

I hope things work out, and you know what, sometimes it's a good thing to get off the net and do those non-internetty things that pile up! ;)

lost my lap top in October - think I may have cried even. I love the new one, but it isn't the same.

It's a bit like loosing a cranky pet.

I would be more that mildly annoyed! Yes, equipment failure can be very disheartening. I hope you get it all worked out soon.

It's not looking good, but it is five years old, which is about seventy in laptop years.

Wow. I'm sure your laptop will be sorely missed. I hope you told it how you felt before it kicked the bucket. Regrets you know... They never go away.

My sympathies. And you know I'm serious!

And congratulations on rooting out any f-words from your post. I'm sure the draft had them in droves :-)

There weren't any f-words, but I confess to having to cut out a few dagnabbits before posting.

I'm keeping my fingers that you get it back. Mine has been all cranky with me lately, for a while refusing to even acknowledge that it had a disc drive, so I'm sure it's entering it's senior years, too...at least you have everything backed up!

Doing constant backups is a lesson I learned the hard way, after I had to retype 2,500 personnel information and computer training received/requested details back in the early nineties :(

I hate it when my equipment lets me down. I get really tense and edgy until I have the problem resolved. And then I have to use this icon. :)

If GDI is foul language . . . Jeez!

I had a computer crash in September. It was away for one month. The longest month of my life. All is good now.

I wish you and yours all the best.

It could be worse. At least it's not my only connection to the WWW.

I am so with you on this one. Yeah, I hate to lose to that sucker. Best of luck with getting some voodoo to work.

My condolences on the loss of your inanimate friend. If there's a wake or anything, let me know.

Lol, no wake, but I might take out all his inner parts and bury him in the back yard, as an example to his replacement ;)
