Looking back, I remember how nervous I felt about posting my thoughts online. What if nobody read them? What if people thought I was stupid or told me I didn’t know what I was talking about?

That’s not to say I haven’t made mistakes. I know for certain that I’ve (albeit unintentionally) upset some people as I learned how different folks use their journals, and how they have their own ideas of what kind of feedback they want from their readers.
Still, on the one-year anniversary of that debut entry, I feel much more confident, and very comfortable within the LJ community.
Would I have kept at it if no-one had commented on that first post? I hope so, but in any case, I’m most grateful to Neal for taking the time to respond. I’m sure he forgot about it soon after, but it made a big difference to me.
