I already know most of what I'm getting for Christmas.  I'm particularly looking forward to unwrapping Terry Pratchett's Unseen Academicals and listening to Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds on CD (something I haven't heard in over twenty years)

How about you?

What are you getting (or hoping to get) for Christmas?

But if you get a significant word count from Santa, won't he want to share the credit? :)

A fully decorated Christmas Tree... *sigh*

And why do you know what you're getting? Did someone run around and snoop for their presents? O.o

Lol, I didn't have to. I buy most of my own pressies, though Senior Management likes to wrap them :)

Peace on Earth, seriously. Or at least, less war.

I'm hoping to get Ruth's The Scroll Thief, Neffenegger's Fearful Symmetry, and Atwood's The Year of the Flood. They're the only things I asked for. My honey tells me I'm getting something I never asked for and am totally not expecting but will love. That can mean many things. My Frankie has some...odd ideas.

If you get the Year of the Flood let me know how it is. I'v been eyeballing that book for months. I imagine Fearful will be good. I loved Time Traveler's Wife.

I didn't ask for anything. My dad gave me money. I love that. My mom and I are going to the theatre (not movie) to see a Christmas musical (or something), I forget. I love the theatre. I'm sure I'll get money and I'll use it for pratical things like paying for my psychology license renewal. And I'm sure I will get a book (or three).

I love the theater shows. Many years ago, Senior management and I saw Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Whatsit. It was excellent :)

What I'm getting for Christmas is a turkey dinner, a cheese and crackers platter, a pudding pie, assistance with cleanup after consumption of same, some time spent watching favorites on vid and listening to music, and some under-the-covers pitching of woo.

What I'd hope to get for Christmas, but is more likely to happen in the New Year, because of little things like hiring freezes and fiscal quarters, is a permanent engineering job for my beloved partner, preferably at the company of his dreams.

Merry merry to you and yours, Jon.

Being the kids we are, Bryon and I are off tonight for Disney as our biggest Christmas present to each other.

He's also given me Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, the Mouse Guard roleplaying game, and a statue of the three most important mice from the Mouse Guard strip.

Other friends have bought me many, many books, including the Dumas that was found in the National Library of France in 2005. Oh yeah.

I'm getting two recent Writers of the Future anthologies and a subscription to Black Gate, assuming my husband does as usual and gets me exactly what I asked him for.

I'm buying myself a copy of Scrivener and some books on structure. And some clothes.
