As Senior Management would be the first to tell you, I’m a hopeless romantic. I’ve seen The Shop Around the Corner (with James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan) more times than a manly man would admit to, and though I feign indifference, I get choked up every time I see the last five minutes of Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember.

That said, neither compares to the brilliance that, in my opinion at least, is the best on-screen wedding scene ever!

At first glance Ming and Dale (Max von Sydow and Melody Anderson) may not look like the perfect match, but there's no denying the chemistry - even if it is 3 parts contempt to 9 parts loathing.

How about you?

What’s your favorite romantical movie moment?

I'll go with "The Princess Bride" and the incomparable Peter Cooks pronouncement, "Mawwaige is what bwings us together heah today. Mawwaige. Twu wuve. etc."

Or perhaps the wedding at the end of "Robin Hood, Men in Tights," including "Do you, Mervyn (giggle)?"

Ooh yes. I forgot about Peter Cook's pronunciationally challenged priest :)

Now why didn't I think of that? The "As you wish", shouted as he rolls down the cliff is a sublime moment.

At our wedding, our ordained-via-the-internet minister started off the ceremony by saying "Mawwaige" very loudly. About 1/2 the guests got it and we all burst out laughing.

Then when it came time to exchange rings, my husband accidentally said "With this wing...."

I'm a terrible giggler at solemn occassions, especially weddings and funerals I think that 'With this wing' line would have had me in fits :)
