An afternoon well spent

Just got back from the post meeting munch and chinwag after Pat Lundrigan's (aka [info]dandyfunk), 'Engineering a story' workshop at the GSHW (Garden State Horror Writers), meeting today.  It was even better than the one he gave last year.

The guy knows his stuff.  I can see why he won the Writer's of the Future award last year.  As always with these things, I came away with mixed emotions: delight at learning some new things about writing, and a (slight), twinge of disappointment from the realisation that I'm not as good as I thought I was.

Hehe, on the bright side, I've got a great six-sentence start to a new story.  All in all, an afternoon well spent.
