Previous Entry | Next Entry

At last, the moment you've all been mildly interested in has arrived!

We had a lot of great entries, but now it's time to select the winners of the 2009 Meager Puddle of Limelight Awards for 'Best Title' .

Set out below are three polls.  All you have to do is select your favorite title in each category (Book; short story or novella; flash fiction).  Voting is open to any LJ user.

Voting closes at noon (US/Eastern) on Monday, September 28th, but if you're curious, you can see who's winning at any time (but not who voted for what).

Winners in each category will be interviewed by yours truly.  If that isn't punishment enough, they also get an invitation to appear on a 'special guest blog spot' here on this journal.

I'm sorry you didn't make it to the final round. Maybe next year.

Thanks for taking part though, and for voting :)

This has been a very handy contest for those of us who are sorely lacking in the title-writing department. I might have to keep this list as a reference.

They're all good. I had a hard time picking my favorites.

Thanks for taking part :)

I foresee a complication. What do you do if there's a four-way tie for first place?

Either that or they could draw straws, with the one who loses having to be interviewed by me ;)

Ah, yes! As in the old standby, "First prize is one week in Philadelphia, and second prize is two weeks."

Even if I don't win (which is looking very unlikely - heh!), I am still boggling a little at two of my titles making it to that list. I never figured myself for being any good at them, so this is a seriously 'happy' moment :-)

Congratulations to everyone who made it to the shortlists, and well done to those who're in the lead!

It's early days yet. This isn't like the Eurovision Song contest you know ;)

I wonder if I could get Terry Wogan to guest blog throughout the competition :)
