I watched Spielberg's movie, Lincoln, yesterday.
Mostly, I wanted to see it for research purposes (I can use Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal to fine tune my own version of the great man), but it's also one of those films you hear so much about, it makes you curious.
Spielberg's latest offering got so much publicity, it was hard to watch it without high expectations. Personally, while I enjoyed it, I didn't feel it quite lived up to the hype - at least, so far as I'm concerned.
I do think it's one of those movies people (at least, American people) should see at least once. I liked how it showed Lincoln as someone less than perfect, while at the same time showing how hard he and (some of) his fellow Republicans worked to pass the 13th Amendment.
