Dear Russian spammers,

Creating a LiveJournal account might allow you to post on journals belonging to folks who don't allow people to post anonymous comments, but we can still tell it's you. Also, while I know enough Russian to hold a very short (and probably confusing) conversation in the language, I can't read the bloomin' thing to save my life, so your adverts is wasted on me anyway.

spam

So, as my old gran used to enjoy when sending a message by telegram: 'Please, please, please...stop.

Re: спасибо
And I'd thought Russian spam was nothing to sneeze at...

I want to know how it could possibly be profitable to spend that much time spamming?! Pretty much every spam comment I get is marked as such by LJ, and therefore is never visible (not to mention, I get the most spam on obscure old old old posts), so... what's the point?

The only reason I can think of, is that (somehow) having a link to the spammers site from elsewhere on the web raises its profile on a search engine, but I could be completely wrong.

Whatever the reason, I really wish they wouldn't do it :(

It's all bout the profile. They want hits on a web search, so they spam in the most unlikely places. I never let them on to LinksAPlenty, though they do keep trying. THey make no effort to actually post on-topic material. If thy did, then maybe I would forgive them, a little, but they don't, so they're "The Unforgiven".

Are you sure it's an advertisement and not a "Nigerian Prince"?

Lol, I wish, but it's really just the two. English still eludes me :)

Ah, if spammers would only listen, right? Their English is probably as convoluted as your Russian. At least it's not spam for Ugg boots. :P I've been getting a lot of those on LinksAPlenty, lately. Of course, I moderate those, but.....

Ah, yes. But, if you bake Spam with cloves, it passes for a type of ham (maybe a tyouch of brown sugar, too). Which, of course, has nothing to do with the type of Spam to which we actaully refer, here. :3
