Share a link to where you submitted your work (pitched/submitted in the month of JULY, 2012) for a chance to win two I are a writer! pens.

Here's how it works:
If you submit/submitted a story to a paying publication sometime this month (even if it only pays in contributer copies) or you pitched a novel to an agent or publisher (either in the form of a query letter or an in-person pitch), share the title AND a link to the relevant publication, publisher, or literary agency, submission page in a comment below (You don't need an LJ account to leave a comment. You can do it through Facebook or Twitter).

Every month, a random commenter will win two 'I are a writer!' pens, as seen in the pic below.

Best of luck to all who take part.

Speaking of pitches and query letters, if you're on LJ, I recommend joining the LJ community, Rejections and Acceptances Log (aka ra_log). Members post details of successes (and rejections), so you know you're not the only one out there shooting for the moon.

I submitted 'Warbling Their Way to War' to Unidentified Funny Objects, which is a splendid title for an anthology :-)

(Thanks for mentioning ra_log!)

Still Pitching
Hi Jon. I queried the editor of Over My Dead Body about a crime story regarding my Hong Kong cop. She has accepted the story, "Babel Tower," at "Over My Dead Body." OMDB is at http://overmydeadbody.com/index2.htm. A story about my Newark cop was published there at this time last year.

Non-Fic "Immortality, Version 2.0"
Dare I mention that I also slid back into non-fiction on how my family's ancestors hang around our family like guests at the dinner table? A Facebook friend in Glasgow suggessted a comment I made should be expanded and sent to Matt Potter, editor of "Pure Slush" in Adelaide. "Immortality" was accepted for its "Real" print edition coming up. (http://pureslush.webs.com/realtime.htm)

Thanks for this! I've been doing Write 1 Sub 1 this year and I was totally confident that because of that I'd submitted something somewhere this month, but when I went back to check my records so I could enter this draw I found that I was wrong. Eep!

I guess that's what happens when you're on vacation, but thank you for inspiring me to check. Not only because I have work that ought to be out on circulation but also because, how much would it suck to fail at W1S1 just because of a brainfart?

I just submitted a poem called The Grotesque to the SFPA poetry contest (http://www.sfpoetry.com/contests.html) and am now going through my records and sending out any other work I have that should be "out there" but isn't.
