The clean up after Hurricane Irene continues.

We were lucky, the power only went out for about five hours, which meant the basement only flooded an inch or two.

I've spent way more time using the vacuum washing thingy to suck water from the carpets than I'd have liked, but after three days of constant dehumidifying, they're almost dry now. Mind you, they'll still have to go.

Every time I find myself feeling down about all this hassle, I remind myself that some folks still haven't had their power restored, and that others had major house damage.

To cheer myself up, I've been watching some of my favorite YouTube videos

Here's my favorite:

A close second would be this one. The best cover version of Bohemian Rhapsody ever. Miss Piggy steals the show, as always:

Last, but not least, the best movie trailer ever.

How about you?

On of my favorites (that I can't embed, alas) is the literal version of Total Eclipse of the Heart. Might be NSFW because of some language.

So glad to hear that you and yours are okay after the old lady (Irene) blew through.

You listed MY favorite video -- the Muppet Rhapsody. Hahaha! Great seeing it again. Thanks, pal! :)

Hi Stephe, I still remember that Darth Vader 'Can't touch this' clip from a couple of years back :)

Thanks Jon, that was cool. Just finished watching the 3 videos you posted, and they're all great. Loved the "movie trailer" one... ha ha! And that Where's Matt deal... cool, that was my first introduction.

Sorry about your flooding. We just got through with an ordeal involving a neighbor's pipe (we share an adjoining wall) bursting and flooding our living room. Feel for you.

Thanks for the invitation to post a favorite video. Me will! First I'll watch some of your commenter's videos :)

This may seem weird, but I hate how we really miss someone when we lose them. Oh how we wish we could go back in time and value them more.

So from time to time I imagine losing a loved one. Such as my wife. If I lost her, I'd remember that one of her very favorite videos is the one I have down below. For a while she'd watch it every time she got to the library and a hi-speed connection.

I like it too. While not necessarily a Korn fan, I do like the video for it's artistic concepts and effects. Plus it's relatively clean, I think...

Thanks for this: this is my first time to hear a Korn song! And your mentioning your wife enjoying the high-speed connection at the library reminds me of before we had ours, and I'd have to go to the library every time I needed to do fact-checking for my work, because my own connection was too slow for the pages to load quickly.

Great video. I think my son likes them :)

Glad to know you're okay! I'm sorry to hear about the hassle with trying to get everything cleaned up and back to normal.

Yay for Youtube. My favorites are kind of weird or interest specific, but here are a few:

http://youtu.be/aEc8v1OWeE4 Stop motion animation

http://youtu.be/NGdyaDnnrLM World Order "World Order" in "slow motion"

I wanted to link one of Nicolas Cage freaking out. It's funny, but it has a lot of profanity, so I decided I better not. XP

Genki Sudo, the group that sings "World Order," is cool <3 They had a free download of one of their songs recently: Machine Civilization.

Edit: oops, my mistake--I guess the group is called "World Order," too.

I love that World Order Video. Here's another from them, watch for the levitation trick near the end, it's excellent! :)
