These are great links! But there's something wrong with the font colour in the paragraph afterward. I can barely see what you've written.

That's weird. It should be black, like the first para. I just changed the color to red and then back to black, can you tell me if that fixes it?

Sorry it took me so long to respond, things look fine now. It could have been my 'puter - some days it doesn't like me.

The Azure Blue Sky post seemed to be what I need at this stage. I'd guess I'm on the 15th draft by now. I'm not sure why, but I think despite what we know, the reminders are necessary. And examples of good writing! It's so easy to get lost in your own work.

Don't let it get you down. When revising, we're quite literally sifting through the good stuff, searching for the crud.

In a novel (especially mine), that's a lot of negative. I think it's important to catch yourself doing something right every now and then too :)

a bit depressing, actually.
As he was also right that a lot of people like to blame ME for my situation rather than looking at the whole picture and realizing that I'm living in one of the 2 or 3 places that are still doing okay (government-town) and I can't get a job. This is not a reflection upon me, but a reflection upon the economy. Even my boyfriend, who's going for a masters degree can't quite get a job either. You'd think that having more education would make him shine above the rest, but that's really not the case either.

In that case I have two words that might lift your spirits: 'Potential movie rights.'

Okay, that was three words, but you get my point. It's true that most authors might not make a living selling books, but good books get made into movies, right?

When I feel down about potential income, I close my eyes and imagine getting an excited phone call from the agent I don't yet have, telling me about a bidding war for the movie rights to my novel.

It won't help you in the right now, but it sure makes me feel better when I do it. Maybe it'll work for you :)

Hope that helps.

lol
amusing thought. I'll need to improve more before that ever happens, though... or get Oprah interested in my work. (unlikely)

thanks for trying to cheer me up, though! <3

Jon, I must say I always find at least one thing in these posts that I love. Thanks for taking the time to do this every few days!
