Here’s my selection of interesting (and sometimes amusing) posts about writing from the last week:

Your Professional Avatar (Mike Kabongo aka onyxhawke)

8 Badass Books That Were Rejected by Publishers (Chuck Sambuchino)

On revision (Lisa Schroeder aka lisa_schroeder)

Research – Is It Really Necessary in Fiction? (Linda Lane)

How do you ‘write what you know’ in SF/F? (Juliette Wade)

Have you heard the one about "was"? (Emma Darwin)
by way of Margaret Hall (aka heleninwales)

Establish a reader-character connection (Dina Santorelli)

The Gloves Are Off! (Victoria Strauss)

Don’t open that box (Jennifer R. Hubbard aka writerjenn)

If you have a particular favorite among these, please let the author know (and me too, if you have time).  Also, if you've a link to a great post that isn't here, feel free to share.

If you found these useful, you may also like my personal selection of the most interesting blog posts from 2010 and last week’s list.

I liked the "Your professional avatar" post. I left a comment there, too.

The 'write what you know in sf'' one spoke to me :)

Of course, if I really did it would be a bit like Margaret Rutherford's Miss Marple in Space. Which, when I think about it, rather appeals... :)

Good round of articles, Jon, thank you! I commented on Lisa Schroeder's and Juliette Wade's posts and enjoyed the Victoria Strauss post as well.
