Predators

I watched three movies from the Predator franchise this weekend:

Predators
(2010) was a lot of fun.

 I especially liked the opening.

On Saturday morning, my son and I watched
Alien vs. Predator (2004), which was also entertaining.

Looking back, I realize we should have quit while we were ahead, but instead we went for the triple whammy and last night sat through Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem (2007).

Big mistake. Still, at least now I can say I've seen all the movies in Predator franchise.

How about you?

What DVD/Movies have you seen lately?

The Invention of Lying (which I liked enough to review it) on DVD and Blade Runner (which I had never seen) on TV. I wasn't overly impressed with Blade Runner but I think that's because so much of what's in the movie has been eclipsed by later movies.

The Invention of Lying was quite fun, but I preferred Ricky Gervais in Ghost Town.

I've seen Blade Runner twice. The first time to see what all the fuss was about and the second because I thought I must have missed something 'cause I really didn't think it was that great - I'm afraid I still don't get it :)

I agree on both counts! Ghost Town was wonderful, and I think it's because the Ricky Gervais character changed on a fundamental level, almost like Scrooge or the Grinch. That kind of redemption always was a powerful pull.

Also, the whole lying thing was very much a one-trick pony, wouldn't you say? :)

That, and the who movie was, in some ways, really just a platform to argue that religion could only exist in a world where people can tell lies. Ghost Town was considerably less preachy.

You know what the fuss was in Blade Runner?

Harrison Ford.

That's it, in a nutshell.

Ever seen Killer Klowns from Outer Space?

No. Was he in that too? :)

No; but it was a fun, campy romp.
