The Super-what now?

Note to self:

Grocery shopping on the morning of the Superbowl might not be the smartest idea.

Best of luck to both teams, though I confess, after seven years of living in the USA, I still don't understand the rules.

Who do you think will win?

After discovering rugby, i've never looked back at American football. :P Are you following the Six Nations tournament?

Sadly, no. I used to watch a lot of rugby, and soccer (aka real football) too, but not for many a long year.

They beat my Jets last week, so I feel sort of dirty rooting for them, but after the Jets, the Steelers tie for my third favorite team. (Jets, Giants, Eagles/Steelers, Colts, if you must know.)

But even if you don't watch the SB for the game, the commercials are pretty cool. ;)

I know. I remember that Ozzy Osbourne one from a few years back, with Donny and Marie? :)

I'm from Cleveland so I can't root for the steelers, but honestly I won't be watching as I have no TV. My parents watched all the time when I was a kid though so I actually do understand the rules.

We have a little "party" at our house every year. It's just my hubby, kids, and I . . . and lots of snacks, but it's fun. We spread a blanket on the living room floor and pretend we're having a picnic while we watch. It's not really the game that matters to us, it's the fun family time . . . though I hope the Steelers win because my neighbors root for the Packers and I don't like my neighbors. ;-)

I'm a horrible person and will burn in Hell for all eternity. =(

I'm a Browns fan, so I don't like the Steelers, really (nor do I like the Packers, so...) but the Steelers are my husband's second-favorite team and in order to promote harmony in the house (which is not AT ALL present during the regular season as I, uh, root against the Chiefs, his favorite team) I will be rooting for them.

But really just hoping for a decent game.

And looking forward to baseball season! Not that I think my team won't suck, but baseball = spring! The sounds of a game on, with the windows open and a cool gentle breeze and the sounds of birds chirping... ahhhh...

To me, sporting events are all pretty much reruns. In football the players kick, they throw, they jump on each other trying to get the ball across the goal line. Sometimes they do it better but really, it's the same game every time. I root for my home team the Redskins (in spite of the awful name) because it is my home team. When I bet in a football pool I pick teams by how much I like their helmet designs. However my second favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers for the simple fact that the town OWNS the team. I really wish more teams were owned by the towns/cities they were in instead of by spoiled millionaires (like the majority owner of my home team!). To me, it makes a lot of sense that the people paying all that money to the players in ticket sales and merchandise reap the rewards.

Go Packers!

If I ever led a Socialist revolution,
that's one of the first things I'd change.
There would be no more private ownership of sports teams.

Steelers by a field goal.

And uhm...17 votes for the Super What?

You didn't have a whole bunch of your English friends mess up the results of the poll did you? ;)

Lol, they don't have to be English, just not American. I don't think the Superbowl's too well-known outside the USA :)
