Author Panel and Blogging Talk

In just over a week, I have my first public-speaking events of this year.

On Tuesday the 25th, I'm giving a talk, Have Blog Want Readers?, at Monmouth County Library, Manalapan, NJ07726 at 7:00pm.

Two days later on Thursday, 27th, I'm moderating a Q&A panel, The Nuts & Bolts of Writing a Book, at East Brunswick Library, NJ08816, along with fellow New Jersey Authors' Network members, Peggy Ehrhart and Gary Frank

I thoroughly enjoyed the talks and Q&A/panels I gave last year. If you can make it to either event (and if the weather permits, of course), I'd love to see you there.

How about you?

What promotional events have you got planned over the next few months?

If you ever get out to Idaho, be sure to let me know! LOL.

The closest I'm getting to promotional activity yet is to begin networking in with writer people on Twitter, and the sites they use and recommend, read blogs and learn about doing promotional stuff. It's a start!

Hehe, will do :)

As for networking, I'd say it's never too soon to start.

I feel I blew it big by missing your talk last November at GLVWG. Sigh. I think I could have gotten a lot out of it. But I am rethinking the annual conference for GLVWG so maybe I will see you there!

The only thing I have planned right now (I am trying to scale back on events because last year was crazy!) is a talk on writing YA with Printz honor A.S. King, next Sunday at Harleysville books. I am excited. But after that... nothing!!

This will be my fourth GLVWG con. I highly recommend them.

Good luck next Sunday :)

I'm going I'm going! I just registered. Are you going to the pre-conference workshop?
Jan. 16th, 2011 08:37 pm (UTC)

I'm booked in for both workshops.

See you there :)

Me too! I couldn't resist.

Are you the person to email if we want to sell our books there? Is it too late to do that?
Jan. 16th, 2011 09:00 pm (UTC)
Yes. I'm collating all the info for the Moravian bookstore and doing the readings for one of the page cuts sessions, which should be fun :)

Can you send me the title/publisher/isbn number(s) for any books you'd like to sell on the Sunday?

My email address is jon@acatofninetales.com

And by 'Sunday' I of course mean 'Saturday' :)

I was in CHhrry Hill in November, for PhilCon. One of these days, I plan to get to a Liberty States' do, but you guys have your regular meetings on the second Saturday of the month, which clashes with the GSHW.

GSHW (http://www.gshw.net)

They started out as a horror writers' group, but now embrace almost every genre, with the possible exception of Romance, which is ironic, since that probably generates more horror in real life than all the others combined ;)

If only I COULD get up your way... One day. That's what vacations are for, yeah?

Break a leg. And let us know how everything goes (swimmingly, I'll bet).

Thanks, Stephe.

It's good to have you back :)
