The Winners of the opening five rounds went through automatically, with the runners-up earning a second chance in round six.

I am perhaps not so guardedly optimistic
as I may appear to be.

Even so, it would be premature for anyone
to begin writing their guest post...

It's a great opening line. I look forward to reading about how it (and the rest of the tale) has been sold :)

As the creator of the anonymous poll, I can see who voted for what, but I haven't looked yet :)

Whoa, I made the final round! I would also like to say that I did not vote for myself, since someone else's was so much better :)

Congratulations, everyone, and good luck to whoever wrote the "fog harvesters" sentence; I'm rooting for you!

And how could anyone watch televison when there is so much
real-life excitement going on here?

Win or lose, a close race is thrilling.
And who doesn't cheer when an underdog comes from behind
to take the roses in a spectacular finish?

And on the off chance that I do somehow win,
someone pointed out to me yesterday
that on the bookshelf,
I'm between Stendhal and Stowe.
If you interview an author who is in such good company,
vast hordes of people will be flocking to read it.
