The other day, my friend, Alyce Wilson (aka alycewilson ), hosted what she called a
Virtual Holiday Bazaar over on her blog. Never one to shy away from stealing a good idea, I’ve decided to do something similar.
Here’s how it works:
Many of us have books and other things for sale which would make for great Christmas gifts (or birthday, anniversary or any other event you can think of), and chances are we’re all looking for things to buy. If you’ve got something to sell online, be it signed copies of books, links to commercial websites, merchandise etc, you’re welcome to leave a description and link in the comments, so folks know where to find it.
It can be anything you like, but please don’t post anything that might embarrass a delicate flower like myself.
If you want to leave a picture to help people choose, but don’t know how, I recommend you write your ‘comment’ as a draft post on your own LJ (you’ll need an account, but they’re
free to open), uploading a picture or two as you would for a draft entry. Check the preview. Once you’re satisfied, that it looks okay and the links all work, switch the view of your draft entry from ‘Rich Text’ to ‘html,’ then cut and paste the whole lot into a comment over here.
‘What’s that you say? What am I selling?’ Well, since you ask, I thought I’d promote my Fur-Face CD/Mug combo.
Delivered by priority mail to anywhere in the USA for just $12.95 (incl P&P and sales tax), it makes a fabulous gift for both the writer AND reader in your life.

If you’d like to know more, just click on the photo above, but don’t forget to come back and check the comments to see what other folks have on offer.
Why not host a Virtual Christmas/Holiday Bazaar of your own? If you do, let me know and I’ll post a link to it here.

A beautiful artistic chapbook just in time for the holidays!!!
A new release entitled "The Nature of Beyond" is a collaborative work between artist Maryann Riker and poet Nancy Scott that explores the nature of beyond beginning with a haiku about a bird whose singing "shapes the world" to an essay that describes interesting sounds emitting from a box at the local post office. Juxtaposing artwork and poetry, the reader travels through the chapbook seeking out their own nature of beyond and perhaps redefining its meaning near the end. Available on amazon.com, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Beyond-Ms-Maryann-Riker/dp/1453632115/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1290472158&sr=8-1

Thanks, Jon!
How can any writer resist this?

If you are looking for older YA fantasy adventure, may I suggest my Seabird (Narenta #1) at Amazon ( http://tinyurl.com/y7coyvj ) and Earthbow Volumes 1 & 2, also at Amazon ( http://tinyurl.com/y49h82m for volume 1) ( http://amzn.to/8XXrVo for volume 2).

These will be particularly attractive to those older YA and adult readers who like the scenario of a typical Earth teen being swept away into a fantasy world. Seabird focuses on the adventures of Cara Marshall, a high school senior of summer vacation at the beach, when this happens. Everyone thinks she's some kind of champion for their cause. She's sure they're wrong, and is convinced she'll be mostly dead if she cooperates with the Narentans.

In Earthbow, the sequel, her brother Xander is similarly brought to Narenta at a time of crisis. His story is interlinked with the adventures of two Narentan young people--the initiate enchanter, Harone up against more than he believes he can handle, and the young fighter, Coris, who has just been knighted a few weeks before his personal world starts falling apart.

I hope you'll try these out. I think you or your friends will enjoy them!

Inspirational e-book fiction

The Shard Fence

This is the story of a North American young man and a Brazilian young woman who teach a church in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to tap faith in God in order to fight drugs and violence in their Brazilian favela. Together they learn the truth of Christ's words, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul."

This work of fiction is based on experiences I had while visiting JAMI (a Baptist missionary training school) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 2005. With other members of First Baptist Church of Portland, Oregon, I visited a favela church where a devoted pastor worked to free people from slavery to drugs and alcohol.

Because of the assistance of Ann Borquist in editing this work, I am dedicating 20% of my profits from this e-book to the work of JAMI as they send missionaries thoughout not only Brazil, but the whole world.

My other Inspirational e-book

If you like fiction which is a real "page-turner", and leaves you feeling up at the end, try my works of inspirational fiction (remember that person who got a Kindle or e-reader last Christmas or for a birthday? Here are especially good gifts for them!):

Searching for Eden, a book about seeking if life can be good again.      Searching for Eden

When Evan Jordan's 14-year old daughter dies of cancer, he goes on a quest to find a place where children don't die, and where life is still good. The search is inspired by an interest his daughter expressed in the Garden of Eden. Could it be that such a place still exists somewhere? Using a small inheritance, he goes searching for that garden, hoping thereby to rediscover the goodness and innocence he lost with the young girl's death. Evan's story intersects with those of a beautiful divorced archaeologist, a 14-year old Hispanic prostitute, and an Iranian woman who had killed her rapist; all of whom join Evan in his quest. The journey brings together Christians and Jews, Muslims and skeptics; all looking to recover a sense of goodness at the heart of life and human relationship.

Thanks for this opportunity, Jon, and I'll link to this from my blog as I did with Alyce.

For those interested in paranormal mysteries, my first novel, Testing the Prisoner, was published just over a year ago by Firebringer Press.

It's a tale of a child abuse survivor who finds himself haunted by a demon and an angel after his estranged mother's death. In resolving the hauntings, he confronts his own rage and pain which he must overcome if he is to save his abusive mother's soul from damnation.

It's available from several booksellers worldwide including Amazon in the US, UK, and Germany as well as Barnesandnoble.com. It's available in paperback as well as Kindle.

Other resellers include:

In Australia: http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/book/testing-the-prisoner/8991763/

In Italy:

Also, the audio book is being released in bi-weekly episodes (chapters) at Prometheus Radio Theatre and they are FREE downloads. We're currently up to chapter six:
