The Character Dilemma (Sherwood Smith aka sartorias )

For the Unpublished (Norm Cowie)

If you have a particular favorite among these, please let the author know (and me too, if you have time).  Also, if you've a link to a great post that isn't here, feel free to share.

I'd read and enjoyed Sherwood's post already, but one that was new to me, that I enjoyed, was the one on writers and depression (the hard hat one)--thanks for the link.

Thanks
I've been lurking on this page every Friday for months now. Just wanted to say thanks so much for collecting these gems. I, for one, truly appreciate the effort.

Do you think so? I'd say the internet itself has given people a way to offer up their eyeballs for grabbing :)

Putting a book in a nice package--whether printed and bound or ebook--is the (relatively) easy part. Selling it is still very hard.

Amen to that. Still, in many ways, we've become our own gatekeepers, or at least signpost-wavers, since we now can (should we so choose) get involved in the marketing side of things, be that online or in person.

that vid is hilarious - i love it - i usually end up reading almost all of the links on these lists you give (though usually not in order, i'm nuts like that)- i'm still trying to catch up on the whirlwind that was my week - but so far, my fave is the vid link - next up are "For the Unpublished" and "How to Survive a First Draft" - and then i'll pick up the hardhat one and the rest =)

I love the experienced friend's lines in the video - especially the one about having a gun in her car :)

People in NJ speak their own brand of English! (I'm from NY; we like to make fun of NJ once in a while).

Lol, that's okay. Just about every town in England speaks it's own brand of English too ;)
