Yay! It’s the start of M&M Week

Back in May, I thought it might be fun to host some kind of networking tea and crumpets/soda and chips event here on An Englishman in New Jersey, where people could meet other folks with the same kind of writing interests.

I called it Mix and Mingle week.

It was a lot of fun, so I thought I'd do another one.

Here’s how it works:
I’m very lucky to have lots of talented, wisdomous, writerly friends. Many of these good people share common interests, but don’t know each other...yet. Not all of them are on Live Journal. Some have accounts (or in the case of LJ users, additional accounts) on Twitter, Facebook, Blogspot etc.

If you’re interested in making some new writer friends, share a few words about yourself and your writing, along with a link to your website, Wordspace, Blogspot, Facebook, Twitter accounts etc. where folks can find out more about you and your work, then add/follow/friend you on the relevant platforms if they so desire.

If you don’t have an LJ account, you can still take part via an anonymous comment, but don’t forget to include your name.

Of course, it’s up to you, but this is ‘Mix and Mingle’ not ‘Find a Fan’ week, so I recommend sticking to general info: how long you’ve been writing; what you usually blog about; preferred genre; favorite authors etc.

As for me, I’m looking forward to finding out more about my friends.

Have fun. Now, where did I put those teabags?

Eye'm Here!
It's been said that a comedian says things funny and a comic says funny things. I'm a writer.

When I heard that the average person has the reading mentality of a sixth grader, I decided right then that fart jokes on my LJ are a must. But flatulance is only a small part of my blog content. I swear!

Jon's got some gig going here, and I figure anybody who is friends with Jon... well, they must share in the lunacy of writing just like me.

I'm brian_ohio on Goodreads, Twitter, Nanowrimo and Live Journal.

I don't think you know me. I'm very quiet online, and I rarely have anything to say. I do have a book releasing from Hadley Rille books. You've probably not heard of it. But you can find it here: http://hadleyrillebooks.com/finder.html and here: http://www.amazon.com/Finder-Terri-Lynne-DeFino/dp/0982946732/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288715820&sr=8-1

I'm a fantasy writer, both YA and Adult.
I blog on LJ but not as often as I did. I'm working on building my reader base at my website www.writerjacampbell.com. I have some free stuff up for people to enjoy if they so desire.
I like to post things like good recipes I come across, have guest bloggers and promote my friends/fellow writers when I can. Occasionally I actually blog myself and I am trying to get better at it.

Things a lot of people know about me:
I love animals
I love to write
I love to read
I love tea

Things only a few people know about me:
I don't usually shave my legs :) (too much work)
I couldn't think of anything else interesting :)

Carolyne - Mom, Druid, cat wrangler, dog bather, beancounter, and I can write - sometimes!

Hello, and Bright Blessings.

When I'm not trying something that I've never done before, I'm usually working the little farm that the hubby and I bought last January. I have a tendency to take old neglected things and shower a little love on them so that they bloom again. Then again, I also seem to be a stray animal/people magnet, so on good days the house looks like a cross between a shelter and a clinic. When it all gets to be too much then I retreat to my lovely back porch, the soon to be installed hot tub, or just to sit out there and enjoy the view of the valley. You can find more on Facebook, the Grove website (www.llygedyngrove.com) or look for some of my essays over at witchvox.com.

My LJ postings are a sort of therapy to recover from some pretty hostile crap thrown at me by unfeeling jerks on another site similiar to LJ....gee, imagine that!

Oh, yeah...I'm also known for my flyingtacklehuggles of support when needed. :)

Hello!
Hi,

I keep my real identity totally separate from my LJ identity, but suffice it to say that I write fiction with no taste, dignity, decency or judicious censoring of foul language. I hope that after my death I might have the chance of being remembered as an embarrassment to my country. I have had short stories published in various outlets and magazines, including one very large international one and a few national ones. Am writing a crap novel too. Even if it is crap, it's the only way out of Working for the Man, so here goes...

Well, hello, everyone. You are an intimidating bunch, do you know? I have been writing, on and off, for most of my life, but got really serious about it just a few years ago. Since then, I have completed a young adult novel for which I'm presently seeking an agent. You can find the first two chapters on my livejournal. I also write essays (I began my livejournal in order to post essays on Harry Potter), poetry, and short fiction - one of my original short stories, and several fanfic stories, are on my livejournal also. Otherwise, I blog about nature, family, and current events - whatever interests me or bothers me, really. I've learned a lot from Jon and some people on twitter and intend to make my blog a bit more useful for visitors in future. But I hope it reflects who I am and that you'll enjoy visiting. Oh - I also post book reviews, mostly of books I like. ;)

I like both tea and coffee (coffee in the morning; tea in the evening) and make a good scone. So I offer everyone scones and soda bread in spirit. Enjoy! Here are my links:
1. My livejournal is obviously http://mary-j-59.livejournal.com.
2. I'm a teen librarian, and my work blog is called "Lost in the World of Books. It's here: http://maryj59.wordpress.com/

Thanks so much for hosting Jon. Any tea left?

Love people to visit my LJ blog. I try to be just insane enough to entertain without being scary. My stories run mostly fantasy, with a little bit of SciFi just for fun. Still unpublished, but I have two "good" short story rejections. lol

um hi! i write stuff. i have a werewolf novel (a sort of hard-technology magic one) in revision behind a filter. i write poems more or less off-the-cuff, some of which i post (unfiltered). i blog probably too much about my pets (cats, dog, icelandic horses, canary) and about random other things that catch my mind.

i'm published in sf poetry, peer-reviewed technology (human/computer interaction) and science (i'm by training a neuroscientist, currently working on neurotransmitter approaches to treating the geriatric demented). oh, and fantasy smut (i actually got paid for that, which reminds me that i don't get paid for the peer-reviewed science :)

visitors welcome!

So, okay, if no one's heard,
my forte is historical fiction,
but most of my short stories are not historical.
I have a collection of stories concerning MtF transsexuals,
a second collection of stories conerning Cisgendered lesbians,
and a collection of stories about a stealth transsexual homicide detective.

Wow, I'm a bit late to the party, aren't I? Oh well, here goes...

I have been writing for most of my life submitting for the past five years or so, and I've got two books published. Bark at the Moon is m/m paranormal erotica which I write as Julia Davies, and 28 Hours is general fiction/light fantasy which I write as Mia Brookes. I have another 5 novels completed and I'm currently waiting to hear back from my next two submissions, one for each pen name / genre.

As for me, I spend most of my time working, writing or reading fanfiction, reading, and collecting swords and knives (I know, it's an odd thing to collect). My blog tends to be filled with useless facts, things that amuse me, interesting distractions etc- that is, when I remember to update it!

I don't like to use Twitter or facebook but here are a few links to some of my other haunts-
Blog- http://drudhani.livejournal.com

I'm late to the party as usual! Hope there are a few crumpets left over :)

Well anyway, hi all! I am Kam, from Chicago by way of Hawaii. I write mostly SF, with occasional fantasy. I have one published short story under my belt. I also have a novella in an anthology that will be coming out probably sometime in early 2011. I'm currently working on a novel that's a twisted mutant hybrid of near-future biopunk-ish science fiction and political/crime thriller. If that makes any sense at all :)

I blog about my writing, as well as music (I play drums in this band), fitness, and my cats. I have another writing blog at www.kamoi-lee.com and am a frequent Twitterer @mongrelized.
