I got completely derailed during the week, so I spent most of Friday offline (except to post the links list). That helped me catch up, but meant that I didn't notice my regular(ish) column over at Flash Fiction Chronicles had gone up.




It's called
'Do you start at the beginning or end there?' and covers (what I believe are) the four distinct parts which make up a first draft.

I'm already rethinking the beginning of my current WIP but am holding off until I finish the first draft so I really know best how to spice and liven it up. It helps to write in chronological order for me as afterwards, rearranging is easier.

I think we all have to find out what works best for us, though I do think it's important to revisit the story opening at some point.
