Welcome to the first (of three) qualifying rounds for this year's MEAGER PUDDLE OF LIMELIGHT AWARD FOR BEST BOOK TITLE.

What's at stake?  Bragging rights for the winner, as well as an interview and/or guest post here on An Englishman in New Jersey.

You can vote for as many entries as you like in each round (you'll need an LJ account to vote, but they're free). When the dust settles, the eight titles with the most votes from the qualifying rounds go through to the final (in the event of a tie, those in joint eighth position will both (or all) go through).

When you're making your decisions, it might help to imagine yourself strolling down the aisles at your local bookstore looking for something to read over the weekend (if you're not a fan of a specific genre, pretend you're buying something for a friend).  If all you could see of any book was the spine, would the title pique your interest?

I don't want to get a LiveJournal account so can't access the poll, but I love the "Bling, Blong..." title, even though I'm not into that genre. And if I were to pick up just one book that I would want to read I would choose "Children of the Marsh Grass".

Hi Carol,

It's a shame LJ polls don't allow some kind of cross-company voting, like they do with comments.
