My friend Cole:
I found a great site: www.tellyads.com, where you can watch some classic ads from yesteryear.
In the UK, we had the decades of PG Tips ads - comedy sketches featuring cleverly dubbed chimpanzees dressed up as actors. I still laugh when I think of the piano-movers one. The one thing they had in common was that they all ended up drinking the tea.
I hadn't seen it in thirty years, but I still remembered the fantastic ad for Tunes (a throat-soothing lozenge), featuring clever cuts of Darth Vader from the original Star Wars Movie in a revised version of the scene where Darth finds a colleague's lack of faith in the Force disturbing.
If I had to choose a favorite since moving to the US, I'd have to pick between the Verizon advert - "I told you to come alone", and the Pepsi one where Ozzy Osbourne has the nightmare about Donny & Marie Osmond.
If you have a better one, why not post a link?
