IPAFPFYOJOJB extended
I've extended IPAFPFYOJOJB (International Pimp a Favorite Post From Your Own Journal on Jon’s Blog) Weekend to last the whole week, so if you've got a past gem of a journal entry you'd like to share with folks, feel free to leave a link (on that post please, so I don't get confused) and I'll add it to the main entry there.

Thanks for Helping Me Promote Fur-Face Prize draw: Round four winners
Congratulations
to phoenixfirewolf, who wins a Quake eBook of her choice in the fourth round of the Thanks for Helping Me Promote Fur-Face Prize draw.  The two runners-up, slweippert and mary_j_59, both win a copy of the Gentleman Jones, special edition Fur-Face CD.  Round five is well underway, if you'd like to find out how to enter this and the main Summer promotion,

VENE, VIDI PUDDLI!
Next week, the search begins to find the winner of the 2010 Meager Puddle of Limelight Award for Best Book Title

Is your book title good enough to win a Puddle?  There's only one way to find out.  Contest doors open on Monday, August 16th.

FUR-FACE WIN A BRAND NEW KINDLE PRIZE DRAW UPDATE
As many of you know, I'm giving away a brand new Kindle (for details, click here or on the banner below).

Several people have asked, so I thought I should clarify:
Even if you bought your copy of my debut novel, Fur-Face before August 1st (when the prize draw was announced) that qualifies for entry into the draw.  Any online reviews of Fur-Face posted before that date also qualify.

I'm slowly going through the pre-August 1st receipts/links etc which I already had, but if you'd like to make sure you don't miss out on a chance to win, feel free to send me the details again (making sure they're addressed to KindleContest@acatofninetales.com).

Okay, that's me up to date.

What are you folks up to today?

I've finished up the laundry,
and now have no good excuse to refrain from writing.

And to make it really exciting,
someone suggested rats in the basement.
I hadn't thought of rats, as incredible as that may seem.

Oh, wait, I live in the basement.

I am reclaiming my long-neglected flowerbeds, and ferrying my son to his driver's ed classes. I'm letting my writer-brain rest for a few days to let my subconscious work through a few problems.

Son's driver's ed = Eek!

Mine's been dropping hints for a while now.

He's doing very well! The classes themselves are hideously boring--the instructor is basically reading from the textbook--but the road lessons are very useful. That way he can get introduced to parking and highway driving with an automatic, while I drill him on stop-and-go traffic with our standard-shift cars. Pretty soon I'm going to have him drive a complicate route or two, including all of the above.

Hmm, just editing editing editing. I've finished my first round and I'm just doing the final edit and format. For anything more I'd have to send it out to a beta reader and agent lady said that wasn't necessary. My other friend who did read it just to look for major problems said she'd pay money to read it, so that makes me super pleased.

'...said she'd pay money to read it'

The guys in my critique group say the same thing about my stuff...more or less. They say they'd gladly pay money not to have to read it :(
