Yay! It's the start of IPAFPFYOJOJB Week!

It's the start of IPAFPFYOJOJB (International Pimp a Favorite Post From Your Own Journal on Jon’s Blog) Week*.

Here’s how it works.

Just like in writing, we have blog days when everything falls into place. You end up posting something you’re super-proud of, and life feels good. Trouble is, after a week or so, it’s all but forgotten. After all, how often do visitors browse through more than a handful of entries on other people’s journals?

International Pimp a Favorite Post From Your Own Journal on Jon’s Blog (or IPAFPFYOJOJB, to use the catchy acronym for it) Week, is your chance to shine the limelight on that great post again.

Post a link in the comments section to an entry from your own journal that you’re really pleased with, along with the entry title and/or a one-sentence description.

It doesn’t have to be on LJ, so long as it’s a blog entry somewhere that you wrote. It can be deep and meaningful, a personal celebration, or just plain lol out loud funny. It can be about any subject you like, it can be as old as you like, so long as you’re proud to have posted it. If you're not sure what to choose, I recommend picking one that makes you smile when you read it again.

Throughout the week, I’ll cut and paste the links and descriptions here:

For my own pick, I went with Is your ‘but’ too big? from back in January (it also appeared on Nathan Bransford’s blog and Flash Fiction Chronicles, but it first aired here – if you’ll pardon the expression).

mjryan chose One mile ahead, a post about Texas historical markers.

msstacy13 chose Carravagio's David and Goliath is..., in which she quotes Simon Schama.

mary_j_59 chose Reeling through the stars, because it makes her smile.

misha_mcg chose Girl Cooties, a post about female representation in media and books.

valdary chose Dreams, an account of a strange dream she had.

drjeff chose Chance, about parenting.

serge_lj chose his excellent, two-part series on Steampunk and Hollywood
(part two is here)

sallymn chose A Rose by Any Other Name, the first of a three-part series about choosing fictional names (parts two and three are here and here)

peachette48 chose Eight Hours, a lesson on never succumbing to fear.

wordsrmylife chose Invasion of the Plot Bunnies, because it makes her smile.

writerjenn chose Writer’s Blocks, about the many reasons writers can get stuck.

lysythe chose l'esprit d'escalier, and my voice versus my keyboard, about shyness.

bondo_ba chose Sharing more cover art, in which he shares the cover art for his forthcoming novel, The Curse of El Bastardo.

phoenixfirewolf chose her famous Pumpkin Stew recipe.

cinda_cite chose swimming around in this amniotic fluid.

celestialgldfsh chose I'm not so-and-so, about knowing when your work is ready.

jjhoutman chose The Bones of a Book, a writing/science metaphor.

*ETA: This was originally going to be a weekend thing, then I thought 'Hang the expense!  Let's make it a week-long event' so please, keep 'em coming
