Would you like to promote your work on my Fur-Face CD?

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I'm producing data CD versions of Fur-Face, so I'll be able to sign and sell copies in person as well as online.  Since there'll be plenty of room on the disk, I thought it might be nice to include a 'Some of my friends' folder, where people who buy the CD can browse through book trailers/sample chapters etc. of some of your work.

I haven't finalised the details yet, but I'm thinking of a seperate folder for each writer, containing a cover pic and sample chapter (preferably on Adobe PDF) of your latest book, together with a book trailer (if you have one - I may put all trailers in a single folder) and a one-page bio (also on PDF), with your book blurb, a bit about you and links to where folks can find you online.

I'm limiting it to one book trailer/blurb per author at the moment.
If you don't have a book published, you're more than welcome to send me a bio/blurb page with links to a few of your short stories or other work, or even a sample.

I use Windows, so if you have a Mac or something else, we may have to iron out a few wrinkles, but I'm sure we can sort something out.

I won't be producing the CD until the end of this month, so please don't send me anything yet.

For the moment, I'd just let me know if you'd be interested, and as always, if you have any suggestions/cunning plans to do with this idea, I'd be glad to hear them.

ETA : Thanks to Peadar (aka [info]peadarog) for this great suggestion.

Why not prepare your sample chapter/story in eBook form?

Here are the steps:
Download a *free* program called
Open the sample chapter in Word and save it as an .rtf file.
Open the Calibre program.
Click on "add ebook".
Select the .rtf file you saved. You should see it added to the ebook library on Calibre.
Now click on "convert ebook". In the top right hand corner is a dropdown box where you can select the format you want to convert to. These days, two ebook formats cover the entire market: mobi for kindles, and ePub for eveything else.
