I had a lot of fun playing Where's the fib? last month. As you may recall, I invited volunteers to offer up four facts and a fib about themselves, then held a poll to see if folks could spot guess which were which. Judging from some of the facts I saw, it's fair to say that you guys have led some crazy lives!
Congratulations to Mary Daley (aka
Now it's time to seperate the fibs from the fiction. If you were one of those who gave me poll questions, please post a comment revealing which of your five 'facts' actually wasn't. When I've got everyone's fibs, I'll figure out who also won the free copy of Fur-Face (or a Quake ebook of their choice if he/she's already got that one).
As for my own 'Four facts and a fib,' here's what I said:
I've had my nose broken six times. FACT
I knew the individual letters, but I couldn’t recite the alphabet until I was eleven years old. FACT
At the age of 16, I worked as a disc jockey in a pub/strip club. FACT
I can trace my family name back to 1066, when one of my ancestors, Henry de Guibe, was given lands in England by William the Conqueror. FIB
I met Senior Management at a wedding I was filming. FACT
Nearly half of those who voted saw through my bare-faced lie. In fact, it's Senior Management who can trace her family name back to this event.
I'm looking forward to seeing if I managed to spot any of my friends' fibs. This really was loads of fun. We'll definitely do it again sometime.
