Well done as always. I do wish the people who prattle on about nothing or in irrational ways would read Seth's post. The world would be a better place.

Perhaps we all have the right to stake out grazing land
for the elusive teal deer...

Sorry to be off-topic,
but I'm a day ahead of schedule.
Which is good,
because getting it back would be dangerous.

Sorry, Stacy, I'm up but my brain's still in bed.

I got to the bank quickly enough yesterday
to get Furface today,
so I've started reading it.

If it stays this good after the first chapter,
you'll be getting five stars...

Lol, I though 'Getting it back would be dangerous' sounded familiar :)

Great list... being a confirmed logophile, I especially loved the ones on words :)

I haven't been able to get through all the posts yet, but it was good to read m_stiefvater's post about getting published. We need to be reminded that most people who are published have worked hard to get there. Writing requires much work! And it's not hopeless :)

30 books before getting published, though. Wow!

Ha, yes. Amazing. It made me think I shouldn't hold so tightly to some of my old novels, and just move on...

Good point. I suspect a well-told, compelling story with great characters will almost always find a home, eventually.

Thanks for including my post, Jon
My post "how to write a profile" has garnered a few comments from readers about how it helped them understand the memoir genre. Since that's the genre I'm in all day every day, it shouldn't surprise me that my interest shone through. But I also think the article is a pretty decent synopsis of how to write a profile.

I am glad to your Livejournal community, Jon. I hope to meet some of your pals, especially anyone interested in the craft of finding story in life (or for that matter, life in story).
