I saw a common thread among many of these, about how publishing has changed, and how the digital and self-publishing revolutions factor into that.

The graph in Jane Friedman's post was especially depressing for a person who, like me, got into book publishing in 2010! But Bell's message seems to be, "Don't panic." :-)

I think a lot of people struggle with the changes in publishing (and what it means/will mean for their future careers), especially the folks who only ever listen to one side of the discussion.

Personally, I like James Scott Bell's take on it the best :)

(dancing and singing in a jolly voice) Thank you, thank you so much, the kind man! :)

I've got so many interesting articles to read now! I'll do the reading with great pleasure, I'm sure.
