Where is Jon - compressed
My son and I shoveled the drive this afternoon (we had about 7-8 inches of snow this morning). There's more to come later, but I figured it was better to get the worst cleared before it freezes overnight.

I'm looking forward to my first Farpoint Convention this weekend. I'm doing a few panels, and taking part in the two book signing sessions, so it should be a fun three days.

How about you?

What have you got lined up for this weekend?

Jon, have fun at Farpoint and safe travels. Sorry I'm going to miss it this year. :( Ironic since I steered them to you. I swear one day you and I will be in the same place at the same time. I hope you enjoy Farpoint enough to return next year when I will be back.

If you bump into Steven H. Wilson, he is my publisher at Firebringer Press and the co-founder of Farpoint. Also, Bob Greenberger and Aaron Rosenberg are the co-creators and editors of the ReDeus series that I wrote for. Bob and Aaron are standard guests at Farpoint and the Shore Leave convention we do in August.

Do you have any discussion panels with these chaps? Also, Michael Jan Friedman and Howard Weinstein are two fantastic veteran writers and all around great guys who have helped me through the years.

So many great writers: Peter David, David Mack, the lovely Kelly Meding, etc. I hope you get the chance to meet all of the other writers, especially at the Book Fair on Friday night.

I started attending Farpoint in 1993 and this is only the second one I've missed. That and Shore Leave in August have been my traditional cons for 20+ years.

See you at Write Stuff?

Phil

Hi Phil,

I'm doing a panel with Kelly on Saturday morning, and a couple with Aaron and Michael later in the weekend (though I seem to be doing two panels at the same time on Saturday).

I'll be at the Write Stuff. I look forward to meeting you in person there :)

Yep, I just looked through the con schedule and saw the panels. Please tell everyone I said Hi!

Last year, I was the writer liaison, so I coordinated the writers programming for Farpoint's 20th anniversary and it was the first time we had a book fair. So for many reasons, I feel very attached to the con.

Have fun & stay safe!
We have house-guests coming tonight for the weekend. Couples date tomorrow night & then some help with the remaining unpacking. :D

Classes start Monday, so that pretty much sums it up (as I'm a teacher). I'll be sure to squeeze in a trip to the library and get to the gym at least once.

I just had to renew an audio book online. I would have returned it yesterday, but the snowstorm had other ideas :)

I am going to REST. It has been a seriously intense week. But productive, so I'm not complaining!

In that case, have a relaxing weekend :)

We are childless this weekend (grandparents are taking EDM), so we have a weekend free and clear of that obligation. Mostly, I'm planning on wasting a bulk of it integrating edits from the novel (I finally got it back!), tweaking the last three chapters of the sequel, and basically writing for about 15-20 hours. I also have to tear down my home network to get work's VPN working, and pay attention to the spousal unit.

And that usual three hour cleaning on Sunday.

It's going to be a fun weekend.

It sounds like you have it all planned out :)

Given how much I do in a week, plus the influences from work (I'm technical lead on a large project), everything in my life is sketched out.

Never survives the actual plan though, since I'm apparently going to be fixing an in-laws computer for most of today. I really need to teach them safe computing.
