doctor who season 7 part 2 itunes artwork

This latest season of Dr. Who started off with the excellent Dalek Asylum episode. I think it’s fair to say things spluttered a little during the second half, but last Saturday’s season finale put things firmly back on track.

I particularly enjoy the stories featuring crime-fighting Victorian lizard woman, Madame Vastra, along with her wife/housemaid, Jenny (who could teach Bruce Lee a thing or two), and the Sontaran, Strax, who I’m glad to say made a full recovery from wounds received at the Battle of Demon’s Run and now serves as the butler.

I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to see a spin-off series.

How about you?

What do you think of this last season of Dr. Who?

I'm waiting to see the spinoff series, too. I rather like the characters, and Strax is very funny. You know, warrior responses to non-warrior situations, but it shows his mentality, his approach, and his civilization. At the same time, he comes across as a big squishy, too, for a Mister Potatohead. ;)

There are some people whom this season turned off the Doctor completely. They thought his reactions should have been other than what they were, and that he should have been less vulnerable. Part of the fun is that each Doctor is different from the others. So the younger ones are more vulnerable. That's okay with me. It's like Mork from Ork, and, except for the Renegade non-Doctor Doctor, seems to be aging backwards.

I do wish they would bring Torchwood back. Captain Jack notwithstanding, there are possibilities.....

For me, Torchwood peaked (albeit rather brilliantly) with Children of Earth.

Mind you, I quite enjoyed the last series, set in the US :)

Well, I can well imagine what fun it would be, if a certain trio were to enlist. ;)

Haven't seen it yet. Waiting for it to show up in my Amazon Prime.

They're all worth watching - even a mediocre Dr. Who episode beats most other stuff on TV :)

Certainly. I missed getting this season on DVR. So now I have to wait for it to show up on Amazon for free. Not sure if I have to wait for the fall. I would like to see it before the big anniversary special coming up in the fall.

I found it a bit disappointing. I didn't love the stories. I really like Clara, though, and I agree with you on Madame Vastra and company. I would totally watch that spinoff.

Clara is my favorite companion thus far. Really dug the entire season. Not a dud in the bunch.

There were a couple which left me with that 'meh' feeling, though I enjoyed them more on the second viewing, but overall, it's a great show :)
