Looking for books? You'll find them in the comments below.

Promoting our work is an important part of a writer's life, but it's not always as easy (or as much fun) as folks might think.

With that in mind, I've decided to open up a permanent page on my blog where people can promote their books.

Here's how it works:
If you'd like to promote one of your books or stories here on An Englishman in New Jersey, just post a link to it in a comment below. Don't forget to tell us the genre/target audience, price etc. If you want to include the back of the book blurb, that's fine too (providing it's suitable for delicate eyes to read).

Feel free to include a link to your main sales page, where folks can go to find out more about you and your other work.

If you want to post a cover pic, go right ahead, but please keep in mind I have a lot of younger readers, so don't post a pic a middle grader's mom wouldn't want him or her to see.

I've created a banner for my sidebar and website, so folks can keep coming back to this page. If you'd like to use it too, I'd be more than happy for you to do so.

Books by my writer friends - compressed

Are any books considered unacceptable?
So long as you bear in mind that I have a lot of younger readers (see above), I can't see a problem. If your books are on the raunchy side of romance, say so in your comment and don't include a cover pic, otherwise. If you're in any doubt as to whether your books are suitable, contact me separately (jon@acatofninetales.com) or message me via LJ.

Please note: If you don't comment via LJ, your comment may not show up right away. Also, the links won't go live till I update them (it's an LJ anti-spam thing)
Have fun!

Books in The Flatwater Press Classics Library
are suitable for all ages, although the tastes of individual readers should be considered.

My books
are written with impeccably good taste,
but should be consideredappropriate only for readers of at least High School age.

Oh, and could I ask your readers to vote in
<a href="http://msstacy13.livejournal.com/2634691.html>The Cat Caption Contest</a>?

The Ultimate Show brings together four of Vaughan Stanger's previously published SF and fantasy stories, each of which pokes a probing finger into a different leisure-time activity. Expect fun, horror and perhaps even a little enlightenment. So, if you've ever stared in bemusement at a piece of conceptual art, or been the butt of a stand-up comic's joke, or crowd-surfed during a rock concert, or maybe spent a little too much time watching sport on television, these stories should appeal to you. Let the show begin!

(These are stories for adults.)

The Kindle edition of The ultimate Show retails for $2.99 or the equivalent in other currencies.

Available in Kindle editions at:

The Burning Time
Thanks for the opportunity to promote here – it's a nice thing you're doing.

Here's what people are saying about my next novel, THE BURNING TIME:

"JG Faherty has delivered a fantastic novel that will delight fans of dark fiction. Horror drips from every page, and his mastery of folklore and the Cthulhu mythos adds an air of reality to THE BURNING TIME that’s impossible to ignore. I highly recommend it." – Brett J. Talley, author of the Bram Stoker Award®-nominated That Which Should Not Be.

“Faherty’s best tale to date…A rip-roaring supernatural horror tale…A grand adventure…a good old-fashioned good versus evil supernatural tale that moves along at break-neck speed. You will find yourself staying up late into the night as you get lost in the town of Hastings Mills and all the frightening things that are happening there.” Peter Schwotzer, book reviewer, Famous Monsters of Filmland, HorrorNews.net, and LiteraryMayhem.com.

“This dude is twisted! JG Faherty really knows his stuff!”- Ray Billingsley, horror aficionado and creator of the best-selling nationally-syndicated comic strip, CURTIS.

The Burning Time
An ancient evil has come to Hastings Mills, and only one man can stop it.

Wherever The Stranger goes, evil follows. Wild dogs roam the fields. Townspeople turn on each other in murderous fury. Innocent women throw themselves off bridges. Swimmers disappear, victims of a deadly tentacled beast that haunts their waters. Asuggath lurks beneath the town's church. And the worst is still yet to come. The Stranger plans to open a gateway to the nether realms and release the Elder Gods to bring forth Chaos on Earth.
Only one man knows the truth, a country mage whose family has fought The Stranger before. But can he defeat his ageless enemy before Hastings Mills is nothing but a smoking ruin and the townspeople become unwilling blood sacrifices to the Old Ones? With only the help of a young woman and her teenage son, he will have to use all of his arcane knowledge to thwart his adversary and prevent the final apocalypse.

In Hastings Mills, The Burning Time has arrived.

Coming in January 2013 from JournalStone Publishing (www.journalstone.com)

Thanks for the opportunity to promote my work, Jon! :D My science fiction e-book novel, Myth of the Malthians, is for a mature audience; at least 18 and over. It is mainly science fiction but it does have a little sex in it. Not more so than most s.f.. It's rocketship, space-war science fiction. Here is my page and an excerpt:

http://www.gypsyshadow.com/R.J.Burroughs.html#top

It is available at smashwords, bookstand, amazon, Barnes and Noble and All Romance e-books, ARe. See youtube, Myth of the Malthians, for the book trailer, or in my author bio on amazon.com. If this is a genre you enjoy and read the novel I would appreciate reviews.

<U><B>Old Dogs</B></U>- Contemporary Romance- PG (13) for language and sexual content
After a bitter divorce from her snobby, unfaithful husband leaves her with the dog and only enough possessions to fit in her Chevy Vega, Valerie Roark retreats to the dark water and pine woods of her Central Florida childhood. In spite of her overprotective and loving family's well-meaning efforts to draw her out, Valerie only wants to hide away and lick her wounds in private. She's discovered a benefit to living a hermit's life: no one can stomp on your heart. She didn't expect to become friends with her new next door neighbor. Daniel Hollingsworth is kind, handsome and British, the embodiment of Valerie's weakness. But Daniel is nursing his own wounds--the death of his wife--and plans to move back to England soon. Neither is looking for a relationship, but when a surprise from Valerie's past plays a visit, both realize that a good friend is what they really need, and friendship can transform into something more...

Available at link below in Kindle for $4.99 and trade paperback format for $12. Also available in Nook format at Barnes & Noble for $4.99.

Strange World and Live to Write, Write to Live
Thank you for this opportunity, Jon!

I have a short story called "Live to Write, Write to Live" in Strange World the new anthology out from Biff Bam Pop! http://www.biffbampop.com

The announcement is here: http://biffbampop.com/2012/08/07/biff-bam-pop-announces-september-release-for-strange-world-short-story-anthology/

The release announcement is here: http://biffbampop.com/2012/11/20/strange-world-a-biff-bam-pop-short-story-anthology-now-available/

The anthology is a collection of horror and suspense stories by authors across North America. My story is more black comedy about a writer who goes too far to prove you have to write what you know.

Thanks again, Jon!
