My wife saw that last part and burst out laughing. Let's just say that wasn't what she was expecting.

Silly fools, they should have released it on Saturday. You know, BILBO's birthday.

I agree - and Martin Freeman is already shaping up as maybe the best hobbit of all, just from these scraps I'm being won over :)

He seems like an excellent choice for the role :)

I agree! Though I'm still doubtful about the "Hobbit Trilogy" concept - after all, The Hobbit, unlike LOTR, actually is a children's book with a fairly straightforward plot. I can see them making two movies, in order to bring in the backstory and bring it into line with the LOTR movies, but three just seems like milking it. Even so, this does look good. Just wish my Dad could have seen it. He was a fan, and read us the books when we were little. (we = my brother, my sister, and I).

If it were anybody else, I'd worry, but with Peter Jackson at the helm, I'm confident they'll all be great movies :)

I may have watched this 4 times the other day when they released it :) Not like I"m looking forward to it or anything...

I definitely need to go and reread the book now. From the trailers, I feel like they're setting it up more as a prequel to LOTR than the book ever was - it'll be interesting to do a re-read, then watch the film, and see how I feel about it after that.

And I think Martin Freeman is going to be such a perfect Bilbo.

To me, Bilbo Baggins is the Arthur Dent of Middle Earth, so Martin was the natural choice :)
