What are you up to today?

I love hanging out with other writers. Aside from all the useful information I get to hear, I always come away from group events inspired to write better (and for longer) than what I usually does, so
I was disappointed yesterday, when I was unable to attend this month's
GLVWG (Greater Lehigh Writer's Group) meeting.

On the bright side, I still get to venture into Pennsylvania this weekend when I travel to the Writers Coffee House meeting later today. It takes place at the Barnes & Noble store in Willow Grove (102 Park Avenue, Willow Grove, PA 19090), hosted by the always impressive, Jonathan Maberry.

The meeting starts at noon. If you'd like to come along, I'd love to see you there.

How about you?

What are you up to today?

I hope, of course, that it goes well,
and I'd love to be there,
but the distance is prohibitive.

And since you ask,
I'll be visiting the Presbyterians again,
and I'm hoping to get the foam rubber weatherstripping,
and further hoping that that will minimize the dust
of the bed bug powder, which has been irritating my eyes and lungs for the last several days.

Since I'm on the subject,
I'll toss in this public service announcement.
If you or anyone you know ever has a bed bug problem,
bed bug powder (whether the brand name or another brand)
really is both the safest and most effective treatment.
However, it is imperative that you attentively read and carefully follow all label instructions.
While the powder is non-toxic, it is also hazardous, and can be harmful if misused.
I suspect my neighbors may have applied it injudiciously.

From your earlier posts on the subject, I suspect you're right.

I'm fighting with my computer and software programs on the Internet. Where's a cliff when I need one?

Is that to throw the computer off or for you to jump off? ;)

Do I have to decide right now? Actually, I've made a little progress. I might end up making this an endeavor that calls for a special treat instead.

That's good to know. I always prefer a happy ending :)

I'm at BaltiCon with about 100 other writers and artists (including my publisher) and doing three readings from my books, particpating in and/or attending panels on various topics on the craft of writing and the publishing biz and most importantly, spending time with my Maryland friends!!

My publisher (Steven H. Wilson of Firebringer Press) did make the official announcement that my second novel, By Your Side, will be released in February 2013 at Farpoint, a long running SF con in Maryland that will celebrate it's 20th anniversary next year.

Also, Jon, I noted your review of Have Space Suit Will Travel on Goodreads and I came across an excellent used copy at BaltiCon from '77 that I picked up along with the paperback version of Dangerous Visions edited by Harlan Ellison.

All told, a great BaltiCon!
