I first saw this amazing stop motion video on Patty Cryan's blog. Patty (aka p_m_cryan) owns Annie's Book Stop in Worcester, Massachusetts, where we put on the Carnival of Authors event last November.

It
was made by the folks at Type Book Store in Toronto. Lord only knows how many hours it took to move all those books around, but I bet they're happy with the results. A quick look at the YouTube page told me the delightful melody was composed by Grayson Matthews.

I may be an ebook fan, but this is a cool video! It must have taken a huge amount of work.

so cool!
Thanks for sharing this video Jon. It was fun to watch. I cannot imagine the patience involved in making something like this.

Re: so cool!
I imagine they had to do each book-moving sequence on the same night too, in case someone bought one in the meantime.

Very cool. I wonder if that's the sounds of bumping and sliding I hear up in my loft every night.

Could be the cats...

That's so cool!

I have an e-reader, but I still like print books a lot better.

Then I have to ask if you've seen this one:

Wow. What determination to get a fun thing accomplished! I'll take that as inspiration for writing through the hard parts.

I bet there were times when they wondered if it was worth all the hard work, that's for sure :)

That was a lot of work, but definitely cute. Actually, I'd sear my nooks do that, and some of them simply refuse to reinstate themselves in the spots where they're supposed to be, when dawn comes around again.

'Actually, I'd sear my nooks do that'

I'm sure there are less painful ways to achieve the same goal, but I know what you mean :)

Ha. Thought I'd caught all my typos last night. Guess eye strain does that....
