I'll finish the first draft of Barnum's Revenge by the middle of next week. After that, aside from a couple of drabbles, I'm pretty much done with writing new fiction until January, when I'll start work on Abraham Lincoln Stole my Homework.

Of course, I'll be jotting down the odd one-liner or storyline/scene idea during that time, but otherwise, I plan to focus on other writing-related stuff, like sorting out my website, organizing speaking events, NJAN panels etc. for next year, and of course, giving Barnum's Revenge a good prune and polish.

How about you?

How much writing will you do in December?

Don't they call it the Gettysburg Address
because it was written on the back of an envelope
addressed to someone in Gettysburg?

Meanwhile,
I will fall somewhat short to the quarter-million words I'd hoped for this year,
but it's reasonable to expect at least another 5,000 words,
or maybe as much as 30,000 words,
although I probably won't complete anything in the next four weeks.

I predict a small fat round number of words.

For me, life is completely swamped by non-writing stuff at the moment...and then there's the Bah! Humbug season to contend with ;-)

Non-writing stuff does seem to get in the way sometimes :(

Hopefully about 30k, which would finish off the novella I'm writing (providing said novella doesn't become a novel, which is not impossible...)

Oh. liveJournal is apparently back today. Fun!

Hopefully, I'll get more writing done this month, than last.

I've been mostly offline all week. I didn't realize LJ had gone away.

People have been playing Do-si-do with it. For some odd reason, that's how I've started referring to DDoS stuff. <,

Like you, I'll just be playing with some drabbles everyday, just to keep the saw sharp during this brain-numbing cold season. Who knows? I might find something new to work on in the new year from it.

I haven't written a drabble for a while, but they're always great fun :)

I have to admit, I'm itching to start something new. I've been completely immersed in editing world for months now. ATNL is in copyediting, so as far as my input goes, I'm done. I'll dive back into edits for Beyond the Gate come Monday, now that I've finished an author's BIG edit. I want BTG finished and in the can, ready for a 2013 release about a year before it will actually be published, because I have a feeling my next FRESH project is going to take quite a while to write, and I'd like to put out a book a year. I missed getting something out in 2011. Thank goodness Finder is still selling well!

But writing? New stuff? Yeah, not until after the new year at the earliest.

I don't know, Jon, honestly. But I do intend to complete some minor revisions of HONOR and make at least a little progress on A DRIVE OF DRAGONS. In other words, I intend to do my usual before-breakfast writing stint on workdays. During the holidays, I don't expect I'll write. Too much else going on!

Oh, and I have to finish the dreaded summary for HONOR! If I can manage that as well as the above goals, I'll be doing very well!

I'm actually in the middle of a project that started as a Nanowrimo entry I like writing while I let the evil story I spent half the year beating my head on sit. So I hope to be doing a fair amount. I've been so caught up in politics that getting back to this silly bit of fic feels like an enjoyable retreat...

I'd like to say that I'm going to write a bit, but I'm realistic. Most of my writing will be for audit documents, instead of fiction.

I will maintain my current writing schedule, Mon-Thur as long as I have ideas to write. I really would like to finish the first draft of Whispers by my birthday in early February.

If I can get all my other catch up projects and editing out of the way, hopefully a fair bit toward the end of the month, but January is going to be a big writng month for me... and editing... and so is February... Well, really, the whole year I think.

Can't wait to read Barnum's Revenge!

I usually "take off" December and focus on minor rewrites and Christmas cards/decor, therefore giving my brain a rest after Nanowrimo. I didn't do Nano this year. I thought this December would be pretty average as far as my writing goes, but now I'm having outpatient surgery tomorrow. I expect I'll lose most of this next week to recovery.

In any case, I already have a 3k story done. I'll do what I can over the next few weeks.

I just finished the first draft of Abigail Rath Versus Blood Sucking Fiends, and like you, I'm on the revision train.

Looking forward to Barnum's Revenge.
