Lost and found

I had an excellent time at the PetExpo in Westampton yesterday, but even though I sold more books than at any other one-day event, the highlight for me was definitely the look on the young mother's face when I found her lost little boy (he'd wandered off while she was talking to one of the other authors at the event).

With all those people and pets wandering around, I figured he'd most likely gone somewhere quiet, which he had. I found him in the second place I looked, the ladies loo.

How was your weekend?

Ah--
not to detract from your heroism,
but did ~you~ look in the ladies loo,
or suggest that she look there?

The door main was open, so when I saw a youngling standing by the sink, I called his name and he came out to me.

After sixteen of losing (and worrying about losing0 our autistic daughters, I guess I've gained some experience in the lost and found department :)

Heroism above and beyond the call. :3 Very brave, to look there.

I think it was actually about and behind the stall.

Lol, not heroism, it's not as if he'd gone very far, but I fully empathize with anyone who loses sight of their young child in a crowded place. It's no fun at all.

As a mother of a formerly young child, I can also empathise.

12K? That's fantastic! I count it a good day if I manage 1,000 words :)

Well done, Jon. Finding little lost ones and reuniting them with family is a special little thrill, isn't it? Congratulations on your Good Sales!

On Saturday, we attended a large pet adoption gathering held at our State Fair grounds. Shelters from around the state were there with dogs and cats. I cuddled puppies and petted kittens, cats, and dogs. We ALMOST adopted a dog, but decided to wait until after the new foster dogs arrive in a couple of weeks.

Lol, I wish. It certainly helped me put things back in perspective though. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in the (relatively) minor aspects of life, I forget what's really important, if that makes sense.
