The University of Nebraska at Omaha requires

a semester of theater and a semester of oral interpretation.

The Jennifer Brozek illustrates an interesting mindset. People are used to equating work with pay, effort with reward. It is difficult for beginning writers to wrap their minds around the concept that just because you work hard on something doesn't mean that it will have value to anyone else, or that you will ever get paid or recognized for it.
