First off, I’d like to say a big ‘Thank you’ to everyone who entered the competition and/or voted to select the finalists for this year’s Meager Puddle of Limelight Award for Best Short Story Title.

The Winners of the opening six rounds went through automatically, with the runners-up earning a second chance in round seven.

I think it's interesting how I look at these. When it comes down to this level, they're really all very good titles. I think my vote was influenced by the genre I'd want to read or the mood the title conveyed now, rather than general evocativeness or cleverness (because they're all good).

This illustrates perfectly one reason I am no good at coming up with titles. I never pick the winner in your contests, never!
